The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently checking out the Fernie 2 Neighborhood Hall in Mpuluzi to render companies for the community.

SASSA is going to be rendering solutions including new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer care enquiries, plus the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a statement, the agency said it is alarmed regarding the high number of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The goal in the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to a significant range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is due to lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no fully functional office focused on service the area each day. The company stage designed for intervention experiences a substantial inflow of prospective beneficiaries, that makes it tricky with the Workplace to attend to all people who pay a visit to a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise additional means to permit the sassa servicing of all buyers and maximize usage of Social Assistance products and services,” the agency said.
